Swerve Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 28, 2026. Swerve is built by Cedar Grove Software LLC.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Cedar Grove Software LLC collects, uses, discloses, and stores personal information when you use Swerve’s website, browser extension, account system, billing features, and related services.

Swerve helps users review public X profiles before engaging.

Swerve uses website content and related browsing context only to provide the user-facing feature of analyzing the specific public X or Twitter profile that you ask Swerve to check. We do not sell that data and do not use it for personalized advertising.

Categories of personal information we collect

Depending on how you use Swerve, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account information: such as your email address, login credentials, and account settings.
  • Communications information: such as email addresses you submit through the website, password reset requests, or other account-related communications.
  • Billing information: such as subscription and billing status information processed with Stripe. Payment card information is handled by Stripe, not stored directly by Swerve.
  • Profile analysis data: such as the public X or Twitter profile you choose to analyze, related public post content, and the analysis results generated by Swerve.
  • Extension and device data: such as information stored by the extension to keep you signed in, remember settings, and cache recent results.
  • Service usage information: such as information we use to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Where we obtain your data

We may obtain the personal information described above from the following sources:

  • From you directly: when you create an account, sign in, submit a website form, choose settings, start checkout, or request a password reset.
  • From your browser extension activity: when you ask Swerve to analyze a public X or Twitter profile and the extension collects the public content needed to run that analysis.
  • From service providers: for example, Stripe for subscription events and Resend for password reset delivery events.
  • From our own systems: when we generate reports, store settings, maintain account state, or support service operations.

Why we collect your data

We collect and process personal information for the following purposes:

  • To create and maintain your account, authenticate sessions, and let you sign in across the extension experience.
  • To store and apply your selected detection preferences and other settings.
  • To analyze the public profile you ask Swerve to review and generate the report displayed in the extension.
  • To cache recent results, reduce duplicate processing, and improve performance.
  • To enforce usage limits and operate job-processing infrastructure.
  • To provide subscription checkout, billing portal access, and subscription state updates.
  • To send password reset emails and provide account recovery.
  • To protect the security, integrity, and reliability of Swerve and to comply with legal obligations.

How we disclose your data

We do not sell personal information to third parties for money. We disclose personal information only as needed to run Swerve, provide the requested feature, meet legal obligations, or protect our rights and users.

  • With OpenAI: public post text submitted for analysis may be sent to OpenAI’s API so Swerve can classify content and generate risk signals.
  • With Stripe: billing-related information is processed through Stripe for checkout, subscription management, customer portal access, and webhook processing.
  • With service providers: we may share information with providers that help us deliver email, host the service, store data, and support infrastructure and operations.
  • With authorities or in corporate events: we may disclose data when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or similar transaction.

When we disclose information to service providers, we expect them to use it only for the purpose of helping us provide and operate Swerve.

How we protect your data

The security of your information matters to us. Based on the current Swerve implementation, we use measures such as HTTPS in deployed environments, hashed passwords instead of plaintext passwords, signed Stripe webhook verification, token-based API authentication, and access-controlled backend systems.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect the data we process.

How long we store your personal information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate the account relationship, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect against misuse.

  • Some information is kept only for a limited period, such as temporary security and account-recovery data.
  • Some information is retained for the life of your account or subscription relationship, unless you delete your account or we no longer need the information to operate the service.
  • We may also retain certain information as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Cookies and similar technologies

Swerve may use browser or extension storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, and improve performance. We do not describe Swerve as using advertising cookies for personalized advertising.

If our use of cookies or similar technologies changes in a material way, we may update this Privacy Policy to describe those practices.

Your choices for managing your data

  • You can choose whether to create an account or purchase a subscription.
  • You can decide which detection patterns Swerve uses in your settings.
  • You can request a password reset if you lose access to your account.
  • If account deletion is enabled in the app, you can delete your account through the account settings flow.
  • You can uninstall the extension or clear browser extension storage on your device, although that will not automatically delete server-side account or analysis records.

Minors

Swerve is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly design the service for use by minors. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Swerve, contact us so we can review the situation.
